I honestly cannot believe that we are at the 10 Month mark already. The time has just flown by. Our little boy is growing up so quickly. Here are a few of the things Austin is doing at 10 months....He is getting pretty good at feeding himself. He developed his pincher grasp a few weeks ago which makes the process less messy..his favorite foods right now are carrots, sweet potatoes, green beans, and BANANAS (He can eat banana chunks quicker than I can get them cut)
Austin's vocabulary is increasing. He jabbers all the time now. So far, the words that we can translate and tell have meaning are "Da-da", "Daddy", "Nonna" (my mom),"Heeeey"(Hi in a very southern drawl ;-) & "na-na-na" (banana). He knows how to say Ma-ma, but when we prompt him to, he gets a twinkle in his eye, smiles at me and says "Da-da". (I think he is messing with me ;-)
He is standing on his own for several seconds at a time, or until he realizes that he is doing it and decides to sit down.
Austin is starting to follow simple commands such as "Go get the ball" or "Give me the cup". (Of course, if it contains the word "No", he just smiles at us ;-)
We can definitely tell that he starting to think through situations and how to accomplish what he wants. Example: The other night he went to get into the one cabinet that we still have not installed a child lock on. Walker stopped him, so he crawled off in the other direction. Once Walker followed him, he doubled back at top speed to get to the cabinet.
About a month ago, Austin began giving the best hugs. When I go get him after a nap, he greets me with a huge smile, wraps his arms around my neck and squeezes as tight as he can. It melts my heart every time. It is the best part of my day.
I just love the last photo, because it really depicts the Austin that I see during the day. He has a great little since of humor and loves to laugh. Our precious little boy is just full of joy and is so kind to share that joy with us.
