Micah at 11 Months

My precious smiley boy....I just adore his sweet naked chub...I could just "eat him up". Micah has grown up so much over the past month. He has really developed his own personality. It is so neat to see. Micah is a very content and happy child.

• He smiles very easily and when he smiles it takes up his whole face.


• Micah is extremely ticklish....especially on his thighs. We usually have a tickle session before bath time and his sweet laughter is absolutely infectious.


• Micah loves playing peek-a-boo, itsy-bitsy-spider, I'm gonna get you, and a pacifier game that he made up.

• Micah's walking has really taken off over the past few weeks. If he isn't distracted by a toy or Austin, he can actually make it the length of the house before resorting to a crawl. When special people come over (i.e. Nonna) or Daddy comes home, Micah has even been known to run (sort of).


• We haven't been to the doctor for an official measurement, but judging by the rate he is growing out of his clothes/shoes, I am guessing that Micah is having a serious growth spurt. He now wears a 5 1/2 wide shoe and 18 months in most clothes. If it is a one piece outfit, he needs at least a 24 month because he has such a long torso.

• Another sign that Micah is growing is his increased appetite. We used to be able to order one kid's meal for both boys to split, but lately Micah has been eating as much or more than Austin (especially if it involves a quesadilla, chicken or blueberries - his current favorite finger foods). He usually follows the finger foods up with 2 containers of baby food and a nursing. You can see why I have started calling him my sweet little piggy. ;-)
• Micah has begun "sharing". He offers us his pacifier, food, toys and water.
• We have been getting lots of compliments regarding Micah's behavior in nursery at church. Although he sometimes makes me believe that he is not happy with me for dropping him off, we are told that he is always content and well behaved. From the stories I have been told, he is becoming quite the ladies man. Apparently he even retrieves pacifiers and returns them to their female owners. Speaking of Micah being a ladies man, we have already noticed that he has a bit of an affinity for dark brunettes. ;-)

• Micah is turning into quite the tough little guy. It makes it hard to explain to Austin that Micah is not quite old enough to wrestle with when often it is Micah who is starting the rough housing. ;-)
• Micah is a very snugly child, which I absolutely adore. He gives the best hugs and the wettest little kisses.
• Micah wants to do everything that his big brother and daddy are doing. It won't be long!
• Micah now says ma-ma, da-da, ba, ha-ba and blows wet raspberries. I am not certain that he knows the meaning, but fairly consistently Micah will use ma-ma and da-da when the corresponding person walks into the room.
