Spring Fever

We have a severe case of spring fever in our house. I feel like the weather has been taunting us lately. We will be blessed with one incredibly beautiful day followed by a week of cold and rain. Well, today was a gorgeous day and the forecast for the next week looks bleak, so we really had to get out and enjoy the sunshine. After lunch we went to the local playground and let Austin play for a couple hours. He had a great time and seemed really excited to have Walker there since it is usually just the 2 of us during the week. It is amazing to see how much more independent Austin is on the playground now compared to last fall.

After a much needed nap and a quick dinner, we headed over to a park that is right down the road from us. It has a great walking trail and a lot of open space. Our initial plan was to fly our kite for a while, but it didn't take long for Austin to decide that there were way to many cool things to explore and investigate to be bothered with flying a kite. (rocks, creek, mud, etc. - a little boy's dream ;-) So, we put the kite in the car and went for a walk instead.

Austin had a blast. There is a creek that runs along a majority of the walking trail and Austin was fascinated by the running water. He was also very excited that there were so many dogs around. He has no fear when it comes to dogs and would immediately run after each one he saw. Thankfully, their owners were more than happy to let Austin say hello and pet their dogs.

Today was a great day of family outdoor fun. I had so much fun spending quality time with my two guys. I cannot wait for the nice weather to be more consistent so that we can do this sort of thing more often.
