2 Year Dr. Appointment and Update

On Wednesday, we went for Austin's 2 year check up. He is healthy, measuring 34 inches and weighing 29 pounds, 5 ounces - no wonder my back is sore these days. ;-)

For Baby Book purposes, here are some of the things that Austin is up to these days.....

• Austin is really into cars right now. He loves driving them on any surface, pushing them through tunnels and lining them up.
• Austin is still a pretty selective eater. His favorites include spaghetti, pizza, broccoli, watermelon & blueberries. (and of course, yogurt melts ;-)
• Austin loves being outside. He especially loves going to the local playground. He has memorized the route there, and if we head down the road that it is located off of and do not turn into the playground, there is usually a loud protest from the back seat. ;-)

• Austin loves animals. His lack of fear when it comes to dogs makes me a little nervous. If he spots a dog at the park, he makes a beeline for it regardless of how big it is. (We are very sad that our neighbor's dog, Sam is moving :-(
• Austin really enjoys going to church. He gets so excited when I tell him that we are going to church and once we arrive, he makes a beeline to his class.
• Austin is still my little dancing boy. Music helps, but is not required. He will bust a move whenever the mood strikes. Currently, he loves to dance in front of the oven so that he can watch his reflection. So funny!
• Lately, Austin's feet have been having a growth spurt. I can barely keep him in shoes. He is already wearing a size 8!
• Austin is all about the joy of participation these days. Anything that Walker and I are doing, he wants to be involved in. If I am cooking, then he will grab a chair and push it up the counter so that he can "help". If Walker gets out his tools to work on a project, Austin is instantly by his side.
• Austin loves reading his Bible (I found a Beginners New Testament a couple months ago). He asks Walker to read it to him every night before bed. They have already read through it completely several times. Throughout the day he will get it, sit in the chair, and "read" by himself. It is such a precious sight.
