As always, Austin loves to dance. Tables, beds, counter tops, etc. all seem to be fair game for a spontaneous dance party. ;-)Austin loves to climb up on our bed and then trust fall backwards onto the pillows.
Austin will pretty much climb anything lately. He is a little daredevil and also enjoys doing flips off of the furniture that he has just climbed.
Austin is VERY ticklish. I love hearing that sweet giggle, so we have lots of wrestling/tickle fights during the day.
Austin has begun using his words more without prompting and finding more ways to communicate his wants and needs.Austin's favorite entrees are Papa Murphy's pizza and spaghetti but his favorite foods still remain blueberries, strawberries and watermelon.
Can you see the mischievousness in those eyes? ;-) Walker and I joke about what comment we will hear when we pick Austin up from nursery. Usually it is something along the lines of "You must have your hands full. Austin never slows down." At other times we hear that he has been showing the other children how to hide in the closet or how to stand on their heads.
Austin is my little helper. He is so good about wanting to help around the house. (Yes, that usually means a task takes twice as long, but it wouldn't be as much fun without him ;-) Austin seems to notice whenever something is amiss around the house. If a door or drawer is open that should be closed, Austin seems compelled to close it.
One of the highlights of Austin's day is making coffee with Walker in the morning. As soon as Walker heads into the kitchen, Austin will push a chair up to the counter where the coffee maker is so that he can help.
Austin doesn't seem very interested in artistic endeavors at this point (he would much rather throw the crayons than draw with them and looses interest quickly), but he does seem to really enjoy music. He could not get enough of Grandma's keyboard during our last visit.
At a recent consignment sale, I came across a "VeggieTales Sunday Morning Songs" CD. Austin absolutely loves it! He requests it both in the car and in the house. (Which means that Walker and I have the songs stuck in our heads at all times ;-) Austin gets so excited when it begins playing and loves to "sing" along. His favorite song by far is "God is So Big" which elicits laughter every time it plays.
Austin has been going through a serious growth spurt lately. He jumped up a clothing size in what seemed like just a few days. He is really beginning to look like a little boy lately. I am curious to see what his measurements are at his next doctor's appointment.
We will be moving Austin to a regular mattress this weekend (his new bed isn't suppose to arrive for a couple more weeks). Not a minute too soon. This afternoon while he was suppose to be taking a nap, I heard a toilet flush. Hmm. Apparently someone has decided against the policy of no climbing in or out of the crib when the lights are off. We found out today that Austin was accepted into our church's preschool for the next school year. It will only be for 2 days a week, but it still makes me a tiny bit sad to realize that he is old enough to go to "school".
