Dance-a-thon

Over the past month or so, Austin has developed a nightly ritual that Walker and I refer to as the "Dance-a-thon". After Walker has gotten home from work, we have eaten dinner, and cleared the dishes, Austin will grab us by the hand and lead us to the middle of the kitchen. At that point he will begin chanting "Dance, Dance, Dance" over and over again. He says it so fast that it almost becomes a beat. (This chant lasts the entire time that he is dancing) Then the dancing will begin. Austin definitely inherited his parents' lack of dancing skills, but what he lacks in talent, he makes up for with enthusiasm. His primary dance move is sort of a "running man" with various arm motions thrown in here and there. Sometimes he will even run in a circle around us while he is dancing.
There are rules....The Dance-a-thon requires mandatory participation of everyone in the room. If you are not dancing, he will pull you into the dance area and command you to dance. The Dance-a-thon last anywhere from 5 - 45 minutes depending on Austin's mood. If you decide that you need to sit down (which I do often because I don't have the energy to dance for 45 min straight.;-), Austin will pull you back to your feet and scold you in his jabber speak. It makes Walker and I laugh at how seriously he takes it.

Austin loves watching his reflection in the oven door while he dances.

That makes me laugh at loud. At least you get more exercise, right? As if you need it keeping up with him.
