We took Micah in for his 1 yr check-up today. He weighed in at 22 lbs 13 ounces (51%) and measured 30 1/2 inches (74%). Micah is a healthy, happy and extremely energetic toddler (it was actually a little painful for me to type toddler instead of baby ;-). Here are just a few of the many things that our sweet little boy is up to these days....
- Micah is not only walking, but running and climbing as well. I have found him standing on top of the time out stool and his ride-on train a few times. My heart skips a beat every time. Micah can also get to a standing position from sitting without pulling up on anything. This has allowed him to eliminate crawling almost completely.
- Micah is in the early stages of talking. His current "words" are: "hi-da" (da-da/hi, dad), "ma-ma", "ah-di"(Austin), "ca" (car/cow), and "ca-ka" (cracker). He also makes motor noises when playing with cars
- Micah can clap, point, gesture "where", sign "more" and give high-fives. He loves "itsy-bitsy" spider and has begun attempting the motions while I sing.
- Micah gives the best kisses and hugs on command
- Micah can follow simple commands - "no", "sit down", "come here"
- We are in the middle of full force separation anxiety. When Micah notices that I have left the room, he will start crying and immediately come looking for me. He also puts on quite a show of crying when dropped off at the church nursery.
- Micah loves wrestling and hugging on Austin.
- Micah continues to be a very smiley baby. He is extremely ticklish and has an infectious giggle.
- Micah is currently cutting tooth #6, so drool is abundant. ;-)
