Easter Weekend - Part 1

We started off Easter weekend with an Egg Hunt at the church. The day started out to be pretty soggy, so they moved the hunt indoors thinking it would be raining. The weather was perfect by the time the hunt started, but since the ground was still pretty wet, it was probably good that we were indoors. Austin was the oldest in his age group (2 and under) and I think he was a little thrown by how un-hidden the eggs were...there were hundreds of eggs just laying all over the floor. When he first ran into the room he got in trouble for kicking the eggs instead of picking them up, but after a little encouragement decided that even without the challenge of having them hidden, egg hunting might be fun.

After the egg hunt at the church, we raced over to Grandma and Grandpa's for a late lunch and another Egg Hunt. This one was a little more challenging and Austin really got into it. (Sadly I don't have any photos of the cousins because by the time I got outside they had already moved to another area to look for eggs.)Here he is quickly grabbing all of the eggs that his cousin, Bryce dropped out of his basket. ;-)After the kids cooled down, they got to decorate their own Bunny cookies. Talk about sugar overload, the cookie was as large as the baking sheet and there were bowls full of candy (for decorating purposes ;-) on the table. As you can see, Austin was far more interested in eating the cookie and candy than he was in decorating. (Do you see a theme in my Easter related posts? I think Austin consumed more sugar in 4 days than he normally does in 6 months!)
