Puppy Love

We went to Cincinnati for the July 4th weekend to visit Walker's Aunt Joan and Uncle Carl. Austin was incredible the whole trip. He did really well with the drive...I honestly couldn't have asked him to be better behaved. The weather didn't really cooperate, so we weren't able to spend the 4th playing in the pool and grilling burgers as is our tradition. The grown-ups were a little disappointed in the lack of sunshine and warmth, but Austin didn't mind the change in plans a bit. (Especially once he discovered Joanie's gorgeous flower gardens ;-)He was thrilled with being the center of attention (as always) and made a new best friend - C.J.-Carl and Joan's "bup-pa" (puppy). I was a little nervous about how Austin would do, being that this was his first time up close with a dog, but they took to each other instantly. Austin and C.J. were pretty much inseparable as they went around the yard "watering" the flowers.



The only problem arose when C.J decided it was his turn to "water" and took the watering can from Austin and ran away. ;-)
But it wasn't long before they were over their squabble and back to being buddies. The picture below is just one of the MANY times that kisses were exchanged between the two. (I had to set aside my dog germaphobia for the weekend in order for my little man to enjoy himself, but it was still killing me each time I watched CJ kiss Austin on the mouth;-)On a side note, Austin is really expanding his vocabulary. Here are some of the new words he had started saying in the past week or so...

Bup-pa - puppy
Papa - Michelle's dad
c-ck - clock
bu-bu - buttons
bu-ba - bubbles
chiz - cheese
